Working with 522 Productions, a video production company just outside of Washington, D.C., MarketSmiths was tasked to develop a powerful script that spoke to President Obama’s efforts and accomplishments–involving deep research and a tight timeframe.

Working with 522 Productions, a video production company just outside of Washington, D.C., MarketSmiths was tasked to develop a powerful script that spoke to President Obama’s efforts and accomplishments–involving deep research and a tight timeframe. With Academy Award-winner Michael Douglas narrating, the final product is a tribute to President Obama’s lasting impression on the world.

Copywriting Challenge & Solution

With Academy Award-winner Michael Douglas on board to narrate, the United Nations Foundation needed a concise script that inspired while covering detailed policy achievements, including peacekeeping, climate change, and the adoption of the UN’s Sustainability Goals. Weaving in clips of President Obama’s own speeches, MarketSmiths constructed a stirring script that hit policy points and high notes alike.

Results

Played at the United Nations Foundation’s Global Leadership Awards Dinner immediately before Ambassador Samantha Power accepted the award on President Obama’s behalf, the video is a fitting tribute to the President’s lasting impression on the world.

Ms. Power, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, even commented on the video in her acceptance remarks. “And even as someone who has had the privilege of serving in President Obama’s Administration since day one,” she said, “in watching tonight’s video tribute, I was struck by how consistently he has put that theory into practice over the last eight years.”
