Synopsis
One of the most prestigious universities in the world, Stanford University has a rich history: it helped fuel the rise of local Silicon Valley, is widely considered a “New Ivy,” and was named the #1 “dream college” by the Princeton Review. The university’s Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is a vital resource in allowing the groundbreaking work done on campus to proceed safely. When EH&S realized that its existing website was clunky, confusing, and hard to navigate, they turned to communications agency Three Furies and development company Palantir to rebuild their content from the ground up as a Drupal site.
Copywriting Challenge
Stanford’s EH&S soon realized that they had more than a design problem: much of the written content was unclear, unengaging, and difficult to process. That’s when they tapped MarketSmiths to revise and rewrite their website content. Working in tandem with Three Furies, our team of copywriters reviewed and revised hundreds of pages—from “Working Safely with Rabbits” to the Laser Safety Manual.
Results
Relaunched in 2016, Stanford EH&S’s new site is clear and compelling, with a refreshed design that makes it easy to find the information you need. The revised content is streamlined, standardized, and intuitively written; EH&S finally offers a rich online experience deserving of such a prestigious institution.
