ASHER, MetaSmith
Chief Financial Officer
Macrostrategist | Narrative Systems Architect
Asher joined MarketSmiths in 2013 as Smith #4. As CFO/CRO, he oversees fiscal governance and the systems that support disciplined growth at scale.
He is the creator of SPARK Sessions™, MarketSmiths’ executive discovery methodology for uncovering the institutional knowledge, competing perspectives, and strategic insights that rarely surface through traditional briefing processes. Those insights become the foundation for messaging architecture, narrative systems, and operating models that guide long-term content production.
He is the architect of MarketSmiths’ Repeatable Content Framework, which connects workflows, visibility, feedback loops, and performance into a single coordinated environment.
As Macrostrategist, Asher helps organizations turn complex business realities into scalable narrative systems. He uncovers organizational intelligence, translates it into messaging architecture, and designs the governance, workflows, and production frameworks that keep strategy, narrative, and execution aligned as organizations grow. His work ensures content production remains synchronized with evolving business objectives, buyer psychology, and market conditions rather than fragmenting over time.
As the agency’s Digital Ecologist®, he designs human workflows and technical frameworks that combine executive judgment, structured processes, human creativity, and AI precision into a coordinated content operating system. The result is scalable content production that remains strategically aligned even as organizational complexity increases.
Organizations engage Asher when rapid growth, competing priorities, multiple revenue paths, or evolving market positions make messaging difficult to keep aligned. His role is to ensure content compounds strategically rather than drifting, stalling, or fragmenting over time.
Outside the agency: Asher Black is an award-winning fiction author and essayist whose work examines moral conflict, identity formation, and the structures that shape human choice. He writes frequently on art, cosmology, and ecology. His work reflects a longstanding interest in narrative as an operating system through which individuals and organizations interpret reality. Asher also consults independently as a Strategic Operative through MadPipe®, a consulting practice of Free Agent Source Inc., which he co-founded.
