Laurel wants to capture your attention, so she uses only the finest ingredients — clear, concise and captivating words. She carries a paring knife around to excise all but those words that enhance your message. Laurel has honed her copywriting skills at a Fortune 100 company and her speechwriting skills in the offices of two New York City mayors. Recipient of honorable mention in the 2015 Cicero Speechwriting Awards competition, Laurel is also a poet and fiction writer. Her work has appeared in venues including Atlanta Review, Big Bridge, Portland Review, Devil’s Lake, and Juked; and she has taught business writing and creative writing at the City University of New York. Laurel holds a law degree, an MA in French and an MFA in creative writing – and, when she’s not writing, editing or speaking words, she can sometimes be heard singing them.
